Position: Senior Engineering Manager – Estate & Facilities
Contract: Permanent/Full Time
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Location: Central London (multiple landmark sites)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week + on-call rota (1 week in 4)

Are you an experienced Engineering Manager looking for a unique and rewarding opportunity? This is a rare chance to take a senior leadership role managing the engineering and smart building systems across a portfolio of prestigious sites, including a brand-new landmark development.
 
This in-house position offers the chance to step away from FM providers and work directly with a leading cultural institution, overseeing cutting-edge smart building integration and operational excellence. You will be instrumental in shaping the transition from construction to full operation at a brand-new site, ensuring seamless performance across multiple historic and modern buildings.
 
Role Overview:
 
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will oversee the engineering operations across multiple high-profile sites, leading a technical team while ensuring the highest standards of building performance, compliance, and efficiency. This is a strategic role, managing complex building systems, integrating smart technologies, and optimising operational processes.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Lead engineering operations across multiple key locations, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Manage the commissioning and integration of smart building technologies to enhance visitor experience and operational performance.
  • Provide leadership and development to a team, including the Chief Electrician and an Electrical Apprentice.
  • Monitor and optimise building performance data, implementing predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and enforce health & safety best practices.
  • Manage contractor performance and oversee outsourced engineering services.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, communicating technical insights to non-technical teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement, ensuring the organisation remains at the forefront of engineering innovation.
 
Requirements:
 
  • Proven experience managing engineering operations within complex building environments.
  • Strong expertise in smart building technologies, BMS systems, and IoT integration.
  • Leadership experience with a track record of developing and managing technical teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
  • Knowledge of compliance, health & safety regulations, and contract management in FM service provision.
  • Engineering degree in a relevant discipline.
